Fractions and Decimals Pairs

Pairs tests pupils' knowledge of equivalent pairs as well as their memory. With each turn pupils are allowed to uncover two cards by clicking on them with the aim of detecting an equivalent pair. Pupils must try and remember what they saw as the two are soon turned over.

Fraction & Decimal Pairs: The cards consist of fractions and decimals, pupils are required to uncover an equivalent pair.

Equivalent Fraction Pairs : The cards consist of a visual representation of a fraction and a fraction, pupils are required to uncover an equivalent pair.

Pairs addresses the following objective(s) from the National Numeracy Strategy :

• Recognise simple fractions that are several parts of a whole.

• Relate fractions to their decimal representations.

• Recognise the equivalence between decimal and fraction forms
